Baden Powell performs some beautiful pieces in this collection of "waltzes". It's a wonderful treat to hear Powell's touch on these sensitive compositions. I feel fortunate indeed to have obtained a copy of this CD. Some, if not all, of these pieces are on other CDs, but it is nice to have them collected on one CD/5(4).

Baden's intro is very structured and distinctly more "classical" than on any other recording. This is a fantastic Jobim/Vinicius tune which Powell always seems to really connect with whenever he plays it, but especially here. Another standout is is his brilliant read of The Shadow of Your Smile.5/5(10).

Beautifully spare work from guitarist Baden Powell – and a record that certainly lives up to its title! Baden's playing in a mostly unaccompanied setting for the session – working through some tunes that are markedly gentler than his bossa era numbers, but which demonstrate an amazing command of the acoustic guitar – a fragile, yet moving sensibility that's beautifully recorded throughout.

Co-written with the brilliant Brazilian guitarist Baden Powell and eventually released in , these eight songs combine Powell's melodic gifts with Bahian Folk traditions and Gregorian chant. With the joyous vocalizations of Quarteto Em Cy, the atmosphere is at once haunting and spontaneous. The music hasn't even begun to date/5(16).

Baden Powell Solitude On Guitar on g Import LP Baden Powell belongs to the small circle of guitarists whose early virtuosity is perfectly combined with a keen sense of chaiginibutacklersbronfallbercheckslutboots.coinfo demonstrates this special talent in his slow numbers in particular, in which broken chords are developed like a bud opening out to a blossom. He guides the listener cautiously through his melodies in that he.
